VINTAGE METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART MMA 1976 TUTANKHAMUN REPRODUCTION EGYPTIAN NECKLACE WITH PECTORAL PENDANT AMULET – SEMI-PRECIOUS STONES + GOLD BEADS, HAND STRUNG – MARKED This Metropolitan Museum of Art reproduction is from the Treasures of Tutankhamen and has been assembled with elongated and shaped semi-precious stone beads. These beads are of lapis lazuli, cornelian, jasper and amythest, along with gold-tone beads in a shiny finish. All beads are of graduated sizes, and have been hand-strung on thick silk cord. The pectoral pendant amulet was made from a mold taken directly from the original in the collection of the Egyptian Museum, Cairo. It was made by the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the first Treasures of Tutankhamen exhibit. It is a replica of a piece found in the tomb of the boy king himself, and is marked as a reproduction. It is intricately cast, using the lost wax process, and has a 24K yellow gold wash. It has good weight and a soft mellow gold color on the pendant and shiny gold beads on the necklace. This necklace slips on over the head, with no catch. Condition: In very good condition, with a rich mellow gold color on the pendant and shiny gold beads on the necklace. There are very small areas of tarnish on the pendant.
