1960’s Custom Brazilian Mosaic Coffee Table; Marble & Semi-Precious Stone Artist. Exceptional vintage 1960’s custom-made mosaic coffee table. Designed and executed by Renor Hockspocher, an artist who fled the Nazis at the onset of WWII, and settled in Brazil. The top is made of pieces of white and black marble, agate and other hard stones, such as amethyst, lapis and malachite. Wonderful composition of various Brazilian people; soldiers, market women, entertainers, etc. These surround a narrow central panel of brown agate slices. The base is teak, with solid legs and two drawers; one at either end. It has been newly refinished in a dark stain leaning toward a mahogany color. The top has no issues – no cracks, chips, nicks, dings or wear. Dimensions: The base measures 39.5″ wide and 22″ deep, and stands 16.5 high. The skirt and two drawer fronts are 2.75 deep.
